Biotin functionalized polyethylene glycol(PEG-Biotin) is an avidin or

streptavidin binding PEG derivative thatis used to biotinylate biomolecules or other material surfaces. Biotin can beeasily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assay and is widely used formolecule target detection.

AldeydePEG is an amine reactive PEG derivative that can be used to modify biomoleculesvia available amine groups. The reaction between aldehyde group with ε-amine oflysine residues and the α-amine at the N-terminus produces an intermediateSchiff base. Further reduction with hydride will form a stable C-N bond. PEGaldehydes react with amine groups at a pH of from 5.5 to 9.5. Higher pH willresult in multiple Pegylation with both terminal and lysine groups. AldehydePEG is a commonly used PEG reagent for n-terminus pegylation in proteins orpeptides.
